After a traumatic incident during his residency, young medical student James Hayman (Namir Smallwood) is transferred to a rural hospital to start over. Noticing that James is having difficulty connecting with patients, Dr. Harrison (veteran stage and screen actor Michael Potts) suggests that James take a course in manners and how to facilitate closer relationships with patients. The demons of Jamesβ past begin to catch up with him when he is overwhelmed by a young asthmatic patient (Sidney Flanigan, NEVER SOMETIMES ALWAYS) who exhibits mysterious symptoms. His grip on reality begins to slip as his disturbing nightmares, anxious speculations and physical injuries collide with the harsh realities of the medical world.
