After a traumatic event during his residency, young medical student James Hayman (Namir Smallwood) moves to a rural hospital to start over. Noticing that James has difficulty connecting with patients, Dr. Harrison (veteran stage and screen actor Michael Potts) suggests that he teach a class focused on patient relationships and facilitating deeper connections with patients. The demons of James’ past begin to haunt him when he is swept up in the case of a young asthmatic patient (Sidney Flanigan, never a rarity) with mysterious symptoms. Her grip on reality begins to slip as her disturbing nightmares, anxiety-induced speculations, and physical injuries collide with the harsh realities of the medical world. Director Alex Thompson reunites a veteran cast in this humane and unconventional genre thriller, the sequel to his SAINT FRANCES and the predecessor to GHOSTLIGHT.
